What We Believe

A reverent, uplifting symbolic image expressing belief and faith without showing a church_

At Dalewood United Methodist Church, our faith is rooted in the love of God, the teachings of Jesus Christ, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. As part of the United Methodist tradition, we seek to grow in faith, serve our neighbors, and share God's love with everyone.

We believe in God.

We believe in one God, revealed to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator of all things and the source of grace, truth, hope, and everlasting love.

We believe in God's grace.

We believe in one God, revealed to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator of all things and the source of grace, truth, hope, and everlasting love.

We believe in Jesus Christ.

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, whose life, teachings, death, and resurrection reveal God's redeeming love for the world. Through Jesus, we find forgiveness, salvation, and the promise of new life.

We believe everyone is loved by God.

We believe every person is created in the image of God and has sacred worth. We seek to treat others with dignity, compassion, kindness, and respect, following Jesus' example of loving our neighbors as ourselves.

We believe in the Holy Spirit.

We believe the Holy Spirit is present and active in our lives, guiding us in truth, strengthening our faith, comforting us in difficult times, and helping us live as followers of Christ.

We believe faith calls us to serve.

We believe following Jesus means putting our faith into action. We are called to care for those in need, welcome the stranger, comfort the hurting, seek justice, and work toward peace in our community and our world.

We believe the Bible is our guide.

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are foundational to our faith and practice, helping us understand God's will and guiding us in how we live and love others.

We believe in the power of prayer and worship.

We believe prayer, worship, Scripture, Christian fellowship, and Holy Communion help us deepen our relationship with God and strengthen us for the work God calls us to do.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
